About the Venue

Built in 1912, Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, is the oldest operating ballpark in Major League Baseball. Owing its unusual dimensions to the urban setting of Boston’s Fenway neighborhood, the unique design inspired the retro-modern ballpark movement of the 1990’s and continues to influence contemporary baseball park design. A revitalization infusing modern innovation and amenities into the venue ensured Fenway Park’s viability for generations to come and helped secure it as New England’s top tourist destination, welcoming nearly 3 million fans and visitors each year. Fenway Park’s 2012 centennial celebration helped earn it a listing on the National Register of Historic Places, and with an active calendar of events that go beyond baseball, the historic ballpark was awarded 2023 Sports Facility of the Year by the Sports Business Journal.
