Thai Dang
Born in Vietnam and classically trained as an ultra fine dining French Chef, Thai Dang has carved his own way in the culinary world and is now paving the way for other Asian chefs in America and abroad.
Chef Thai gained experience in many notable MICHELIN rated kitchens before opening his first critically acclaimed restaurant, Embeya, in 2011 celebrating Progressive Asian Cuisine. He now owns and operates casual concepts Cà Phê Đá Vietnamese Cafe, Dang Good Wings both in University of Chicago and award winning HaiSous Vietnamese Kitchen, located in Pilsen, a vibrant Chicago neighborhood. Chef Thai’s creative approach and signature style has garnered many awards and notable partnerships both nationally and internationally. In 2023, he brought the flavors of HaiSous back to his homeland for a Residency at the Four Seasons Nam Hai Resort in Hoi An, Vietnam as well as an exciting HaiSous pop up in Hong Kong for Blacksheep Restaurant Group.
Thai Dang continues to be recognized for pushing the boundaries of Vietnamese Cuisine.
