Matt Abdoo & Shane McBride
Matt Abdoo is both a seasoned BBQ pitmaster and a top fine-dining chef. Matt first earned his BBQ chops as a member of one of America’s highly competitive BBQ teams, Salty Rinse, receiving 2nd place medal for Whole Hog, 1st place in the Poultry category, and 1st Place for Best Sauce (Mustard) at the annual Memphis in May World Championship. Prior to founding Pig Beach, Matt was the Chef de Cuisine at Del Posto for 8 years, and during his tenure, the restaurant received a coveted four-star review from the New York Times, as well as Relais & Chateaux’s distinction recognition. Matt was raised in upstate New York in the small town of New Hartford. His close family ties to his Italian and Lebanese family heritage fueled his passion for cooking. Today, Matt is a frequent guest on The Today Show and has appeared on NBC's The Chew, Fox & Friends, DirecTV's Fantasy Zone, and Good Morning Football. As a nationally recognized chef, Matt has served as a brand ambassador for numerous consumer products as well as the National Pork Board and the National Pecan Association.
Shane McBride also brings a wealth of BBQ and fine dining experience. Shane regularly travels the professional BBQ circuit with his team Ribdiculous, competing at the Memphis in May World Championship, among other important national and regional competitions. Prior to his involvement with Pig Beach, Shane worked in some of the most prestigious restaurant kitchens in the country including Craftsteak and Colicchio & Sons in New York. He then joined Keith McNally’s restaurant empire, where he worked his way from up from chef de cuisine at flagship Balthazar to Corporate Executive Chef for the group. In that capacity, he helped open Balthazar London, Cherche Midi, and Augustine.
Matt’s and Shane’s combination of BBQ passion and fine dining expertise is what drives Pig Beach. The result is a unique, and exciting food and beverage experience.
